Success in design comes from a clearly defined and agreed set of objectives, a project approach and of course regular communication. A well planned design can result in the character, atmosphere and beauty that makes your garden a unique experience, whilst creating a space where colour, scent, texture and form blend to give pleasure throughout the year.

The Initial Consultation and Site Survey
Our designer will visit your garden, listen to your requirements and take a full brief from you. Following the initial consultation a Site Survey is undertaken. Accurate measurements of the house and garden will be taken. A survey of the site, in terms of access, levels, space and aspects is undertaken. Soil samples are taken to enable us to recommend planting schemes. Photographs are also taken at this stage. You have the opportunity to discuss your budgetary limits.

The Layout Design
Our designer will use the initial consultation brief and the survey to work up a scheme to present to you as a first 'sketch' draft. Only after discussion and agreement with you will your layout design be presented. The layout design will detail all areas of landscaping, construction (if required), structures, dimensions, levels, space and aspects. Suggested planting will also be detailed.

The Planting Scheme
Once the layout has been agreed the designer will prepare a detailed planting scheme. In preparing the planting plan the designer will use their expertise and the extensive range of plants offered by Brooklands Nurseries (and others, if necessary) to ensure that the final scheme meets all your requirements. The growing conditions and aspects of the site will be considered when developing the scheme.

Project Control                                                                                                                    As part of our service we can also offer a 'design and build package'.  This includes the design and required drawings for construction and planting within the garden.  We then assist in the engagement of contractors and oversee the project from start to finish. The contractor’s quotations are checked to ensure that prices are competitiveand realistic. Prior to payment by you we will check the quality of the work and will suggest any retention's or penalty clauses if deemed necessary.  We make scheduled and ad-hoc site visits. Our objective is your complete satisfaction.
